Well, the No Shopping Challenge is just that – a challenge to not shop!
The challenge can be for as long as you’d like! A day, week, month, a couple of months…or my personal goal, a year. Your rules can be totally unique. Some people abstain from buying clothing while still allow themselves to shop for other items. Some people forgo eating out at restaurants and focus more on home cooked meals. Your rules are up to you!
The plan behind this particular challenge is to be more grateful for what I already own and to learn to love those items to their fullest extent. In a world that is so driven by consumerism, it is sometimes a good idea to take a step back and appreciate what already surrounds us.
My goal at the end of the year is to be happier with the possessions I already have, and hopefully to have a stronger understanding of what it means to live a life out of the hamster wheel of shopping. I want to cultivate a life of pretty things that not only serve a purpose but also add meaning to my life.
